Hi Benjamin, I am someone who wouldn’t comment on YouTube videos or any internet posts in general. But I get the impression that you are eager to get to know your audience. So I am Liane, and my situation is the reverse to yours, I am a German living in the UK. I came here in 1991 mainly to learn the language and also to get to know a part of the world that I had thought I would never step foot in, having grown up in the former East Germany. And contrary to my initial plans, I am still here and love my life here. I love the Brits, their sense of humour, the informal way of communicating- everybody is on first name terms (I hate Siezen), the atmosphere in English pubs and much more. My impression is that you are not quite like the average English bloke, you are so thoughtful and I find that fascinating, I am always enjoying watching your videos and digesting your thoughts. I was wondering why you have changed the name of your channel, the previous one summed up so well what you are. I guess the reason is that you want to talk less about your experiences of living abroad and more about life and its meaning in general which is fair enough. Well, I wish you all the best!
Hi Liane. I’m very happy to hear from you and glad that you feel at home in the U.K. Yes you’re right. I want to talk about other things for the time being. It will probably confuse a lot of people but I kind of feel like I’ve covered everything I want to about that topic. However I’m sure I’ll through some more German related topics now and again😉. Siezen is the worst. God how I love it in Scandinavia and the UK, the Netherlands are close to using first names. But France is even worse than Germany I think. And I don't know about the Mediterranean countries.
Hope you have fully recovered from that week of COVID. I'm a doctor based in Frankfurt am Main, so health is one of the things that are high on my list.
